Quicky wireless networking booster redesigned

QuickerTek has announced a redesign for the case of its Quicky, a wireless networking signal booster for the Macintosh. It costs $225.

The Quicky is a 500 milliwatt (mW) USB-based wireless networking transceiver. The strength of the transceiver is considerably more than a stock Apple laptop, which averages about 30 mW, according to QuickerTek. That means that with the Quicky installed, users can find more wireless networks and connect with a stronger signal, which can improve transmission speeds.

The redesigned Quicky features a more rugged design, more "roadworthy," according to QuickerTek. The device works using an available USB port, and it operates automatically following a basic software installation. It's compatible with MAc OS X v10.3.9 or later.
