Expo: Circus Ponies previews Notebook 3

There are people who are content to keep bits of text floating around in e-mail or on scraps of paper scattered throughout their lives… and then there are folks who live and die by snippet-keepers and organizers like Circus Ponies’ Notebook. Notebook collects together all the bits of information email, audio, graphics, and and scraps of text that clutter our lives, and enables users to categorize, organize, and use that information in new and useful ways.

Announced at Macworld Expo, Notebook 3.0 adds diagramming capabilities that enables users to build tree graphs, flow charts, and other drawings to their notebooks. Version 3.0 also includes a new sketching utility that incorporates handwriting recognition, and the application now copes with tabular data: users can even enter spreadsheet-like formulas to quickly sum a column of numbers. Power users will also appreciate being able to view multiple pages within the same Notebook document.

Circus Ponies says Notebook 3.0 will ship in the second quarter of 2008 for $69.95; registered owners will be able to upgrade for $19.95. Notebook 3.0 requires OS X 10.3.9 or higher.
