Drive Genius 2 features new interface

Prosoft Engineering on Tuesday announced the release of Drive Genius 2, a new version of its hard drive maintenance software for Mac OS X. Drive Genius 2 costs $99, with upgrades priced at $59.

Drive Genius defragments the contents of your hard drive, repairs directories and can repartition drives "on-the-fly" (nondestructively). You can use Department of Defense-compliant "shredding" to securely erase data, obtain in-depth reports of specifications and space utilization, duplicate your drive, check drive integrity, repair and rebuild and more.

Changes to Drive Genius 2 include an all-new user interface, along with speed and performance enhancements. Mac OS X v10.5 "Leopard" is also fully supported.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later, 256MB RAM, 1.0GHz or faster processor and DVD drive.
