Hello again

iPhone Ep. II

Last year, when I first welcomed you to iPhone Central, I didn't even have an iPhone. Of course, that's no longer the case—I, and roughly five to six million other people, have gotten our grubby little hands onto one in the past twelve months, and the phone itself has undergone plenty of changes.

Now, on the eve of what seems likely to be Episode 2 of the iPhone Saga, it's time for us to undergo some changes too. We already know that the iPhone is going to be spreading across the globe, Outbreak-style, later this year (hopefully with fewer icky symptoms). After a year of operation, we're working to more closely integrate iPhone Central into Macworld proper. The differences for you, the readers, shouldn't be too disruptive—most of what we're tinkering with is under the hood, in the systems we use to post to the blog.

While this means good things for us in terms of using a common posting platform for iPhone Central and Macworld, it should also mean benefits for readers too. iPhone Central posts will now appear in the headline list on the Macworld front page, and our comment system will now be using the Macworld forums, so if you've already got an account over there (as I'm sure many of you do), you're all set. You'll also find, at the bottom of each article, the same controls we have on articles at Macworld, making it easy to share stories with others and provide us simple thumbs up/thumbs down feedback.

Rest assured, you'll still be getting the same great content that you've come to expect from iPhone Central, with posts from our knowledgable team of Macworld editors (and, er, me). We hope these changes will improve iPhone Central even further as we move into our second full year of iPhone coverage.
