O2 iPhone Wi-Fi includes BT OpenZone, The Cloud
O2 has taken another step to widely improve its iPhone 3G offering in the U.K., multiplying the available Wi-Fi hotspots users can employ to get online.
Hidden in the small print on the O2 page, O2 confirms iPhone users will enjoy free use of Wi-Fi hotspots from its existing partner, The Cloud, and also observes iPhone users will be able to use hotspots provided by BT OpenZone.
This raises the number of Wi-Fi hotspots available to U.K. users to 9,500, with the O2 note mentioning that all these hotspots will be made available for use from July 11.
O2 is seemingly offering U.K. users the best iPhone 3G deals of all those announced so far. New iPhone customers can purchase the 8GB model for £99 (US$200), or the 16GB model for just £159. You can then sign up to a regular £35 contract (600 minutes, 500 texts per month), or a new £30 contract (75 minutes, 125 texts).
Customers signing up for the more expensive tariffs will get the iPhone for free. New users signing up to a £45 per month contract (1,200 minutes, 500 texts) get the 8GB phone for free or can get the 16GB iPhone for just £59.
Deals for business and the introduction of a pay-as-you-go model of iPhone in the U.K. complete these attractive deals.
