Pear Note integrates audio, video and slides with text

Useful Fruit Software on Friday announced the release of Pear Note 1.0 for Mac OS X. It costs $39.99; a 14-day demo is available for download.

Pear Note combines text notes with audio, video and slides. Pear Note keeps track of what’s going on while taking notes using a timeline, including what the user has to say about it. It’s designed to help keep track of what’s happening at meetings, in classrooms or during speeches. You don’t have to organize your notes with Pear Notes, either. The software uses a search engine to locate what you’re looking for transparently.

Pear Notes uses rich text for notes, supports Spotlight and QuickLook, offers spell checking capabilities, and can import and view slides from PowerPoint, Keynote and PDF files.

System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.5 or later, 6MB hard disk space, Spotlight, a microphone (if recording audio) and an iSight (if recording video).
