Aquafadas unveiled version 2 of its PulpMotion slideshow animation software this week at Macworld Expo.
The update features a revamped user interface that Aquafadas says should be more intuitive. The program also features better handling of text and aspect-ratio independence, plus the ability to create multi-song soundtracks. Aquafadas says its address a problem earlier versions had with handling large numbers of images. You can also open multiple documents at once.
PulpMotion V2 also adds more than 25 themes and 80 presets. If you are just starting out as a slideshow creator, these themes are intended to spark your creativity.
When you are ready to share your masterpiece, PulpMotion V2 has an array of export options. You can share animations via e-mail as an interactive postcard. You can load your animations onto a iPhone or use it as a screensaver.
If you are ready to move up the ladder of slideshow production, PulpMotion Advanced also underwent an update. It features more than 100 presets as well as an exclusive feature that allows you to create animations between selected areas of a picture. Other features of the advanced version allow you to define areas of interest within images and fine tune the timing of your soundtrack.
PulpMotion V2 costs $49; users who bought the software after September 1, 2008, can upgrade for free while other users can pay $15 to upgrade. Existing PulpMotion Advanced users can also upgrade to the new version for free.
The program requires OS X 10.4.4 or later running on a G4-, G4-, or Intel-based Mac.
