After a week’s worth of guest hosts, I return to my regular podcast-hosting duties from the Macworld PodLoft on the Expo show floor. And I’m joined by Tim Holmes, a former Apple OS evangelist. Along with senior editor Rob Griffiths, who sits in on this podcast, we discuss Apple and the Mac community’s past, present, and future.

In the second part of the podcast, Rob Griffiths and I speak with Pat Lee, Director of Personal Desktop Products for VMware. We speak at length about the company’s VMware Fusion, the application that allows you to easily run Windows (and a host of other operating systems) on your Mac.

Show Notes

Here’s Tim’s resume. He was a board member of the Berkeley Mac User Group from 1989 to 1995, and he served as the manager of Mac OS Evangelism at Apple from 1996 until 2002. San Leandro, Calif., residents may know him as the owner of Zocalo Coffeehouse.

You can see Tim and his family in the documentary MacHeads, which had its premiere at Macworld Expo.

It’s worth your while to listen carefully to Pat Lee. In our interview he reveals that, for a short time, you can get a significant discount on VMware Fusion.
