REALbasic 2009 Release 1 now available

REAL Software on Tuesday announced the release of REALbasic 2009 Release 1, a new version of their programming language and Rapid Application Development (RAD) environment for Mac OS X, Linux and Windows.

REALbasic enables developers to create applications for any operating system by recompiling them for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. It features advanced programming concepts like inheritance, polymorphism, interfaces, delegates and introspection, and comes in Personal and Professional editions depending on your needs.

New to the 2009 Release 1 edition is 27 new feature sand 100 improvements. A new Quickstart window helps new users get started more quickly. REALbasic can now automatically reopen the opened project; you can copy all menu handlers, methods, constants and properties by selecting the code group heading and dragging while holding down the copy key; the font size in the Language Reference window can now be increased and decreased; importing a picture into a project now includes the mask, if there is one; and much more.

REAL Software has also announced a new Affiliate Program where developers can promote REALbasic 2009 Release 1, and REAL Software pays a commission to new license sales that they generate.
