Klipsch to offer headphones for new iPod shuffle

Klipsch on Thursday announced that it will release new headphones for the third-generation iPod shuffle. The new headphones will go on sale this Summer for $100.

The third-generation iPod shuffle is so tiny that it’s moved its controls to the earbuds that come with the device, leaving some to question whether third-party headphones will work with the diminutive music player. Apple confirmed that third-party headphone makers would support the new device, and Klipsch is early out of the gate with its announcement.

The new headphones will feature the ability to play, pause, adjust volume, switch playlists and, using the iPod shuffle’s “VoiceOver” technology, let you hear the name of the song and artist by pressing a button.

Klipsch’s Web site had not been updated with information about the new headphones as Macworld posted this article.
