StarTech.com has released new Mini DisplayPort adapters that will let you connect your Mini DisplayPort-equipped Mac to a VGA, DVI, or HDMI display. The adapters support a maximum resolution of 1920-by-1200, and also have support for 1080p HD resolution.
The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI (MDP2HDMI) adapter has audio support, but the adapter does not support audio with the new MacBook Pros, which have a new Mini DisplayPort that has audio out. The adapter sells for $29.
If you want to connect to a DVI display, you can use StarTech.com’s Mini DisplayPort to DVI (MDP2DVI) adapter. It supports video only and is priced at $29.
The Mini DisplayPort to VGA (MDP2VGA) adapter allows you to connect a VGA monitor. It sells for $29.
Editor's note: Updated 5/25/10 to correct information about audio support on the new MacBook Pro.
