From the Playlist book: this mini-review applies to BTI's iPod Battery ii and Griffin Technology's TuneJuice

If your iPod's current battery is worn out, you need a replacement; but if you simply need longer battery life than your iPod can provide, you need an extra -- one that plugs into your iPod and gives it supercharged playing time. Griffin's TuneJuice, the smallest battery available for dockable iPods, is perfect for extending your listening time just enough to get through the rest of the day; a single 9V battery provides 4 hours of playback time for a dead iPod or 8 additional hours to an iPod that's still running on its own. For longer battery life than you thought possible, look to BTI's Battery ii. This battery on steroids provides over 40 hours of additional playback time to dockable iPods via its own rechargeable lithium ion battery. (In fact, we got many more than 40 hours in our testing.) The Battery ii is fairly bulky and heavy, and it's significantly more expensive than some of the other options on the market, but if we were going to be away from civilization for a week, this is the battery we'd take to keep our tunes playing. (Note that BTI also has a similarly priced option, the generically-named Battery, that provides nearly 100 hours of playback in a bulkier package.)
