Looking a bit like an overgrown oven mitt, Speck’s $40 PixelShield is a lightweight sleeve for the iPad. Featuring a built-in handle, the PixelShield bears a nubbly neoprene exterior, a semi-rigid internal reinforcement on one side, and a soft interior that protects the iPad from scratches while in the sleeve. The case is available in black or red, fits the iPad snugly, and completely covers the iPad to help protect it from moisture. Although you could carry the PixelShield on its own, very few people could pull that off without looking silly. Better to tuck it away in a bag or backpack for extra protection.
