Pages 1.1 for iPad brings landscape toolbars, localizations

Portable purveyors of prose rejoice—Apple has released Pages 1.1 for iPad with a handful of new features and fixes, as well as over half a dozen localizations.

The new version of Apple’s iPad word processor brought the toolbar and ruler to the landscape view, which was previously devoid of even a single control. Documents should now automatically fit to page width in landscape view, and the Arrange panel’s back/front slider was “enhanced.”

For iPad users who prefer to work in a language other than English, Pages 1.1 for iPad now supports French, German, Japanese, Dutch, Italian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish.

As far as fixes go, Pages 1.1 for iPad gained improvements for importing and exporting Microsoft Word documents, chart font size issues, and it resolves an issue with scrolling after inserting and playing a movie.

Pages 1.1 for iPad is a free upgrade available now in the App Store for existing owners, and it requires iPhone OS 3.2 or later. If this update convinced you to finally take the plunge, Pages for iPad costs $10.
