Navigon offers free navigation app for CES travelers
Navigon, purveyor of fine GPS software for iPhone, has unveiled a special free navigation app for CES 2011. The app is sponsored in part by Audi, which is subtly reflected in its name: Audi Las Vegas Navigator.
The app’s goal is to help thousands of CES travelers navigate the great state of Nevada with turn-by-turn directions, lane guidance, points of interest, and the like. As in the original Navigator app, Audi Las Vegas Navigator works both while behind the wheel and on foot, uses text-to-speech to announce street names, and offers in-app location sharing with Facebook and Twitter. The app offers 3D maps, with photo-realistic views of road signs and lane guide markers.
Audio Las Vegas Navigator is free, and available in the App Store for a limited time. It requires an iPhone 3G or later, or an original iPhone with a third-party GPS accessory. Navigon will (surprise!) be appearing at CES in the NAVTEQ booth (South Hall 4, upper level, booth #S36026).
