MimioStudio 7 now available for Mac
Mimio announced Tuesday that the latest version of its classroom teaching program, MimioStudio 7, is now available for Mac and Linux users.
The new software updates the Mimio Interactive System, which gives teachers the ability to convert traditional whiteboard into a digital teaching tool by mating a sensor bar to a computer and a video projector. Teachers can use content templates that come with the system, or they can import lessons from PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. (They can also import a range of multimedia to include in the lessons.) The software also works in conjunction with Mimio's other classroom products, including its “classroom clicker” and wireless tablet devices.
Tuesday's announced update of MimioStudio retains those features, while giving teachers a new ability to view thumbnail versions of each page in their lesson files. The update also includes an array of new transitions and animations to help users liven up their lessons; it also introduces an object-cloning featuring that lets teachers make copies of objects within a lesson file for easier creation of charts and diagrams. (See the video below for a demonstration.)
MimioStudio can be downloaded for free, and is compatible with desktops OS X 10.4 or later.Read more…
