Samson’s new Meteor Mic won’t hit stores until April, but you can pre-order one beginning on Monday, with your choice of a chrome finish or a limited-edition gold plating.
Best Buy is taking pre-orders for both versions of the new USB microphone, which runs $100 for the chrome version and $150 for the limited edition golden microphone. The latter also comes with its own unique, numbered mahogany case, of which only 400 will be made.
Both microphones carry a 25mm large condenser element housed in an all-metal body and come with a fold-back stand that allows for an increased range of focus, perfect for recording simple vocals for a podcast or the mouth of a guitar for a song. They also feature a 1/8-inch output jack for a stereo headphone set and their own volume control with a mute switch.
The Meteor Mic requires no drivers to install: simply connect it to your computer via USB and start belting out your favorite tune or recording your weekly podcast. The microphone officially goes on sale on April 15.
