The Week in iPhone 4 Cases: Commencement
Product mentioned in this article
Ah, the end of August—time for those back-to-school trips filled with the fun of long lines, overpriced stationery, and the inevitable feeling that summer is nearly over. Luckily, the impending commencements have not slowed the flow of cases for Apple's mobile devices—which, of course, is why we're back with another of our famous—or is it infamous?—case roundups.
Beyza Cases: The Zero Series (€25) is a slim, thin, pouch-style case made entirely of hand-crafted leather and designed to fit the iPhone tightly and securely. An opening at the bottom makes it easy to remove the iPhone, while the soft interior protects your handset from scratches and minor bumps. The case comes in black, tan, brown, red, and white—each with external stitching in complementary colors.
Case Mate: The Colorways ($30) is a three-piece, modular case whose interlocking plates—in red, yellow, and blue—can be combined to form a unique combination of colors that suits your particular taste. The case's impact-resistant material is flexible and protects your iPhone from unwanted bumps and scratches. A white, adhesive sticker for the back of your iPhone provides a more-vivid color appearance.
Concord Keystone: The Keystone Eco ($50) is a rugged, splash-proof case designed for an active lifestyle. Built from tough polycarbonate with a soft-rubber outer shell, the case wraps around your iPhone 4 without requiring the assembly of multiple parts. It comes in black, white, and black with blue, pink, purple, and orange accents.
Design Tag: The Smart Phone Note is probably difficult to find outside of South Korea, but how could we pass on the chance to cover a case that incorporates a paper notepad? After all, you never know when you might get the urge to jot down a thought or two, or maybe put a sketch to paper. Now, if only you had a magical device that would allow you to that without paper…
Graft Concepts: The Leverage ($60) is a clever, bumper-like case that features a unique, metal, latching mechanism that locks a protective frame around your iPhone, removing the need to squeeze your handset into a pre-formed enclosure. The package also includes a removable back plate, giving you an added protection option if you prefer a more-traditional look.
ID America: The Gasket ($30), which we covered earlier this summer is an iPhone case made of brushed aluminium and inspired by the mechanics of automobile engines. The company has announced that the new “Rally Blue” color will be available soon, bringing the number of available colors to six. Like its predecessor, the Rally Blue Gasket comes with a free screen protector.
Lost Dog: The Change for Good ($30) is a white, ultra-thin, hardshell case that protects your iPhone while adding a splash of color in the form of French artist Aurèle's motto, “Change for good.” The company has also released the Top Secret ($30), which features a design by the same artist but comes in black. Both cases are built using environmentally-friendly materials, like the rest of Lost Dog's product line.
