Originally released in 1991, Another World (also known as Out of this World) was a punishing platformer, but a rewarding one. Now, you can re-experience all the perils and prizes on your iOS device as part of the game's 20th anniversary celebration.
At the time of its release, Another World was revolutionary for its use of cinematic cutscenes during action sequences and its distinctive aesthetic, which mixed polygonal characters and objects with bitmapped backdrops. Players take the role of red-headed scientist Lester Knight Chaykin, traversing through a short but challenging narrative-driven platform adventure experience.
This special 20th anniversary edition features both the original pixel graphics from 1991 as well as remastered high-resolution images to take advantage of the iPhone 4's Retina display. It also features two control schemes, an adjustable difficulty level (with "normal" being easier than the original) and 13 Game Center achievements for players to unlock.
You can download Another World from the App Store for $5.
