Simon & Schuster has moved up the publication of the first authorized biography of Steve Jobs, the publisher confirmed Thursday.
Previously scheduled for release Nov. 21, Steve Jobs will now debut Oct. 24.
Pre-orders have pushed the book to the No. 1 spot on Amazon’s bestseller list.
Jobs, 56, the co-founder, former CEO and chairman of Apple, died Wednesday .
Both the hardcover and e-book edition will release Oct 24, a Simon & Schuster spokesman said today.
Steve Jobs, the first biography of the iconic entrepreneur written with Jobs’ cooperation, was penned by Walter Isaacson, a former editor at Time. Isaacson has written bestselling biographies of Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein and Henry Kissinger.
At one point, the Jobs biography was to debut in March 2012.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the biography includes interviews with Jobs as recently as four weeks ago, both shortly before and after he stepped down as CEO. The publication cited a source who claimed that Jobs discussed his impending death in those interviews.
Simon & Schuster declined to answer questions about why the publication date was moved up, and whether there was a requirement that it be released posthumously.
