CES: Alpine updates car stereos with iPod integration

Alpine has released its second-generation digital media receivers with in-dash iPod integration at CES on Monday.

The new receivers — the iDA-X100, iDA-X200 and iDA-X300 — include AM/FM and options for XM or SIRIUS satellite radio; HD Radio; USB

MP3/WMA players; USB mass storage devices; and Bluetooth connectivity for hands free calling and streaming audio support.

iDA-X100 displays album art and features iTunes Tagging through its dedicated iTunes Tag button and the separate TUA-T550HD HD Radio Tuner. When the iPod is connected to the computer, iTunes automatically presents the songs in a new Tagged playlist so the user has the option to preview, buy and download the songs.

The iDA-X100 will be available in February 2008 and will cost $400;

the iDA-X200 will be available in January 2008 for $300; and the iDA-X300 will be available in January 2008 for $200.
