Life Record on Friday announced the release of Life Record EMR version 4.0, a new version of its Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software. Life Record costs $9999.

Life Record offers doctors a system for managing their practice on the computer. The software’s features include in-lobby enrollment, iPhone messaging, the ability to prescribe drugs electronically, real-time patient updates, access to patient medical records, imaging capabilities with support for multi-dimensional DICOM images and more.

New features in Life Record 4.0 include SMS-Touch integration with the iPhone, which allows doctors instant access to medical records using the iPhone’s SMS messaging capabilities. Dictation and transcription management is now built-in, and turnkey systems are offered for all insurance carriers. What’s more, Intelligent templates have been added to assist with patient treatment, billing and diagnosis.

Life Record is a Web-based record-keeping system that utilizes PHP and MySQL. The software works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux clients connected using a Web browser, including the iPhone.
