MacPractice offers credit card processing

by Peter Cohen, Macworld.com

MacPractice, developers of practice management software for doctors, dentists and chiropractors, on Tuesday announced the integration of credit card and debit processing for its software.

The company has teamed up with Parallel Software to manage the new capability, which is being integrated into all MacPractice applications. The software lets users process and journal both credit card and debit card transactions within the patient’s record. Individual patient payment records are secured to maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, and transactions are auditable and tracked.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later, G4/1GHz or faster (including Intel).
