América Móvil to bring iPhone to Latin America

by Peter Cohen, Macworld.com

Reuters reports that América Móvil, the largest cell phone operator in Latin America, plans to bring its customers the iPhone this year.

América Móvil’s announcement leaves more questions than it answers. Like Tuesday’s announcement from European carrier Vodaphone, América Móvil didn’t specify if the deal is exclusive or what its financial arrangements with Apple are.

América Móvil operates in 16 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean; the company counts more than 159 million cell phone subscribers.
