ScreenSteps now works with WordPress, TypePad, MT

by Peter Cohen, Macworld.com

Blue Mango Learning Systems has released a new beta version of its ScreenSteps software, which lets you create tutorials. The new 2.1 beta is available for download now.

ScreenSteps creates tutorials using image captures from your computer. This is helpful for tech support professionals, computer consultants and technology instructors who want to show users how to use a specific software application by actually demonstrating it and then capturing images.

Up until now, you could only export ScreenSteps lessons to PDF, HTML or a ScreenSteps Live account. New to the public beta of ScreenSteps 2.1 is the ability to publish directly to your own WordPress, TypePad or Movable Type-based blog. Also, “Topics” in the user interface have been renamed as “Manuals.”

ScreenSteps is available in Standard and Pro versions and costs $39.95 or $59.95 respectively.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 or later.

Update: Corrected information that gave the impression ScreenSteps could record video. 5:31 pm 5/07/08
