Ambrosia announces three new App Store games

by Peter Cohen, Macworld.com

Ambrosia Software, long-time Macintosh utility and application developer, announced Thursday that it has launched three iPhone games with the introduction of the App Store.

Ambrosia's kicking off its iPhone application releases with Aki Mahjong, mondo Solitaire and Mr. Sudoku. Each game is priced at $9.99.

Aki Mahjong is a tile matching game that features Japanese backdrops and ivory tiles. Players match the tiles to make them disappear. Features include a Core Animation-powered interface and a level browser. mondo Solitaire includes more than 100 solitaire card games accessible through a CoverFlow-style library search interface. Games can be sorted and selected by name, style, favorites and popularity. And Mr. Sudoku is a variation on the logic-based number placement puzzle game. Use your finger to draw the number you want, and it's converted into the actual number. There are four difficulty levels with thousands of puzzles.
