Merlin, the project-management program from ProjectWizards, adds a new Web module in its latest update that’s aimed at making it easier to collaborate across platforms.
Merlin 2.6 allows users to publish project files over the Web as either a live HTML document that others can collaborate on or as a static HTML page to share with other users. ProjectWizards says the Web module feature extends Merlin’s reach to users who aren’t running Mac OS X but who would like to access projects via a Web browser.
Projects can be shared with the push of a Publish button and selecting the Web Sharing option. The software creates a URL that a user can copy and paste in an e-mail or click to open in a default browser.
Merlin 2.6, which also includes enhancements to stability and performance, is a free upgrade for all Merlin 2.0 and 2.5 license owners. The Web Module costs $150 and allows up to 10 concurrent sessions over all published project files. The Web Module runs on Safari 3, Firefox 3, and Internet Explorer 7.
