SimCity comes to iPhone

EA Mobile on Thursday announced the release of SimCity for the iPhone and iPod touch. It’s available for purchase and download from the App Store for $9.99.

SimCity for iPhone
It’s the latest iteration of the legendary city-building simulation game originally created by Will Wright, maker of The Sims and Spore. In SimCity, your goal is to create a thriving metropolis, complete with transportation, housing, utilities and an effective infrastructure to support a large population of simulated people who live within. You can construct, manage and destroy your dream city from your iPhone.

You’ll have to manage your SimCity through growth and expansion to disaster recovery, when tornadoes and UFO invasions roll through. The game features eight tool categories to help you plan, zone, build, bulldoze and manage, and includes tutorial and starter cities and three difficulty modes. As you achieve success you’re given “Simoleons” for tax revenue, which you can use to further your aims.

SimCity for iPhone and iPod touch requires the iPhone 2.2 software update.
