CatPaint got your iPhone?
The newly-released CatPaint iPhone app makes a simple promise: to let you insert cats in your photos. But does it deliver? Macworld editors put the application to the test.
There's a cat for that
When I started at Macworld ten years ago, I sent my grandparents a copy of the magazine so they could see what I was up to. This despite the fact that they didn’t own a computer and had never seen the Internet. When I asked for my grandfather’s thoughts, he expressed pride for my success and then offered me one piece of advice for improving the magazine: more articles about cats. Cats. And if they came with photos of cats, all the better. Because people love photos of cats.
Believe it or not, it’s surprisingly hard to work cats into an article about Macs. Mice? No problem. But cats? Well, for starters, they tend to not sit still for our benchmarking process. And I don’t know if you’ve ever tried to vacuum cat hair from your keyboard, but it’s not pretty. So we felt it our duty to try out the new CatPaint iPhone app—dignity be damned.
