Elgato, a leading manufacturer of TV recording software and TV tuners, has announced a Special Edition of EyeTV 3.4 that offers a feature called a Vuvuzela Filter, designed to filter out the annoying drone heard at every FIFA World Cup game this summer.
The noise, which is said to distract viewers and players alike, comes from a supposedly traditional two foot plastic horn.
The Elgato filter dampens the stadium buzz of live football broadcasts on the Mac, and can be quickly switched on and off for the full audio experience at any time during the game.
The Vuvuzela Filter is available as part of the EyeTV software update only during the World Cup, and will disappear with the next software update Elgato notes.
EyeTV 3.4 Special Edition is available as a free update for EyeTV 3 users. The update is not an auto update, users need to download the new version here. Elgato EyeTV tuners are available at the Elgato Online Store, at Apple retail stores and from local Mac resellers.
