To date, Apple hasn’t focused a lot of attention on India, but that may be about to change, according to Reuters. The company has apparently been trying to make the iPhone more attractive to Indian consumers, via a pay-by-installment plan, and has launched a new marketing effort. Unfortunately, the company nixed my proposed tagline: “Naan do it better.”

Eat your heart out, Law & Order, because here’s a legal twist you never saw coming: The Apple-Samsung case in Australia is so massive it has required an unprecedented second judge. I would totally watch this movie … were it not about a boring patent trial.
Speaking of the land down under, Apple is now looking to hire a “Maps Ground Truth Data Specialist” in the country. Once hired, the person will verify that Apple’s Maps’s data is accurate, provide feedback, and, presumably, stand at strategic locations to direct iOS users who get lost.
With its shareholder proposal struck down, Apple has withdrawn the issue from its proxy statement, saying that it was “disappointed with the court’s ruling.” If only there had been a second judge to appeal to.
Google Said to Be Eyeing Spotify-Style Streaming (Wall Street Journal, subscription required)
Google may be working on a subscription-based music-streaming service, the Journal reports. Apple, of course, has been rumored to do the same since wild mastodon roamed Minnesota, so you’ll pardon us if we take our mastodon steaks with a dash of salt.
Superbrands Latest Voting Results (Superbrands)
Apple took top honors—er, honours—in a British survey of the business “superbrands” of 2013, and came in second among consumer “superbrands” where it only fell behind Rolex. Wait…Rolex? Isn’t that a watch company!? Duh duh DUHHHHHHH!
