Siri’s getting its day in court, Apple’s putting boots on the ground around the world, and the Biggest Little City in the World is getting its head in the cloud. The remainders for Wednesday, March 27, 2013 hear the train a comin’.
Say it ain’t so, Siri! Well, it was only a matter of time before Apple’s virtual assistant was hauled into court. Shanghai Zi Zhen Internet Technology Co. Ltd. alleges that Apple infringed upon its patents when creating the intelligent assistant—the firm says it’s been working on its own chat robot, Xiaoi, since 2003. Just wait until Siri cross-examines Xiaoi—then the sparks are gonna fly!
We mentioned Apple’s Maps Ground Truth team last month, when the company was adding personnel in Australia; now the Ground Truth team may be coming to a country near you! Me, I’m waiting for the inevitable reality show about Ground Truthers forced to live together in a cramped apartment.
