Podcast: All about iLife
Apple’s flashy hardware gets all the attention in the aftermath of an Apple product launch—we’re looking in your direction, iPad Air—but the company produces some pretty noteworthy software, too. We’ll take a look at three applications—iMovie, iPhoto, and GarageBand—that recently saw updates for both iOS and OS X versions during Apple’s October 23 iPad event.
I’m joined by a trio of Macworld editors who spent some quality time with Apple’s revamped iLife offerings. Join me on this Macworld Podcast episode as I talk to Serenity Caldwell, Jackie Dove, and Christopher Breen about iMovie, iPhoto, and GarageBand, respectively.
Serenity Caldwell has spent some significant hands-on time with iMovie for OS X and iOS, even writing a review of iMovie 10 for the Mac. She also has the 411 on how iMovie for iOS projects don’t currently work on the Mac.
Jackie Dove’s iPhoto 9.5 review is also up on Macworld.com. (That’s the version that runs on OS X Mavericks.) Her review of the latest version of iPhoto for iOS runs on Thursday. Meantime, have a look at her iPhoto hands on for both versions.
Christopher Breen’s GarageBand review will be up later this week. For now, content yourself with his hands-on look at the OS X and iOS versions of Apple’s music-making app.
