Fast DVD Copy adds dual-layer burning, more

Velan Software on Tuesday announced the release of Fast DVD Copy v3.5 for Mac OS X, a new version of their DVD archival utility, suited to backing up DVDs, audio CD collections, PlayStation 2 games, DVD-ROMs and CD-ROMs. Unlike other some other DVD archival utilities, Fast DVD Copy is designed specifically to duplicate otherwise copy-protected media including commercial DVDs.

New to this release is support for dual-layer burning, support for ARccOS-protected DVDs, RCE protection handling, a "Movie Only" function to copy DVDs but to strip them of bonus features and menus, improved compatibility with DVD players and more. It's a free update for registered users. Fast DVD Copy costs US$99.95 and requires Mac OS X 10.2.x or higher, 17GB free disk space, a compatible burner and media. A downloadable version of the software allows you to burn one disc before registering.
