DVForge pulls JamPod from production

Jack Campbell, CEO of DVForge, announced today that his company was pulling its JamPod, a $30 personal guitar amplifier for the iPod, from production. In a message to Playlist, Campbell writes:

“We have decided to pull the first production run JamPod product from the channel. Anyone having received one who does not like the product can contact us for a full refund.”

Campbell goes on to explain that the company shipped a less expensive design than the one shown at January’s Macworld Expo in order to reduce the price from $50 to $30. Based on negative customer reaction to this $30 design, Campbell says, “we’re halting production, retrieving these JamPods from our distributors, pitching all of them in the trash, and, are going to go to production with our first design.”

Campbell claims that the higher-quality version will be relaunched in seven to eight weeks and cost $49.99.

Owners of the original JamPod can contact DVForge’s customer support for a refund at this address.
