Lego Star Wars: The Video Game goes beta

Aspyr Media Inc. on Thursday announced that its Mac conversion of Lego Star Wars: The Video Game has reached its beta development milestone. The game is expected to ship in August for US$29.99.

Combining beloved Lego construction toys with the Star Wars mythology, Lego Star Wars: The Vide Game lets users play through the story of the first three movies: The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Players can control more than 40 of their favorite Star Wars characters through more than 18 levels. A two-player “drop in/drop out” cooperative play mode lets players interact without interrupting gameplay, as well.

Preliminary system requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.7 or later, G4/1GHz or faster, 256MB RAM, 2GB hard disk space, ATI Radeon 8500 or Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 or better graphics with 32MB VRAM and DVD drive. Lego Star Wars: The Video Game is rated “E” for Everyone by the ESRB.s
