Newer offers newer high-cap battery for old iPods

Newer Technology Inc. already offers replacement batteries for iPods, but on Tuesday the company offered its highest-capacity model yet for first and second-generation iPods: A 2200mAh battery that provides 78 percent more runtime capacity than the one included by Apple. It costs US$34.95, and includes installation tools and instructions.

In announcing the new 2200mAh battery, Newer has discontinued its 1800 and 2100mAh iPod battery for first and second-generation iPods— now available for $19.99 and $29.99 respectively while supplies last, down from $29.95 and $39.95 respectively.
