iRepair repairs, recovers iPod

ESS Data Recovery has announced iRetrieval, a data recovery and repair service for Apple iPods. Pricing starts at US$290 for 10-40GB iPods, and may be less for other models.

Using the service, iPod owners can send their iPods back to one of the company’s locations where the information is recovered and returned. ESS Data Recovery replaces the hard drive and other parts if necessary.

ESS Data Recovery can attempt repairs on both hard disk drive-based iPods and flash-based systems like the iPod nano and iPod shuffle. The company’s recovery services extend beyond music files, since the iPod can also be used to store regular data files.
