Video Storyboard basic edition available free

The Atomic Learning Library today announced the release of a free "Basic Edition" of its Video Storyboard software.

Created by Apple Distinguished Educator Bill Bierden, Video Storyboard has been developed as a planning tool for creating video projects. It's aimed at teachers, students and home movie makers.

  • Enter shot titles and descriptions, complete with planned lengths and edited order
  • Indicate shot types: video, still, audio, music, or titles
  • Enter film tips for your camera person when videotaping the shot, and editing tips to be used when editing in iMovie or Final Cut Pro or Premier, etc.
  • Import existing video clips, still pictures, and sounds to better illustrate each shot
  • Create, save, and import templates for video projects
  • Print copies of your storyboard for use while filming or editing
  • Print blank storyboard worksheets for brainstorming new ideas
  • The Basic Edition of Video Storyboard works natively under Mac OS 9 and in the Classic environment of Mac OS X.

Atomic Learning Library also offers thousands of narrated QuickTime movie-based tutorials; the service is offered for a US$49.99 subscription fee. (Site licensing rates are available.) The site also offers some free tutorial series focused on iPhoto, iMovie and OS X.
