Crystal Method offers 45 minute runner's mix

Famed electronic duo The Crystal Method has released Drive: Nike+ Original Run, a 45 minute continuous electronic music mix for runners.

Drive: Nike+ Original Run comes in the wake of Apple’s release of iTunes 6.0.5 and new software for the iPod nano, both of which provide compatibility with Nike+ running shoes.

Users who have iPod nanos and iTunes 6.0.5 can collect data from their Nike+ running shoes through the Nike+iPod Sport kit, a wireless system that records time, distance, calories burned and other content, then uploads that information to a Nike Web site using iTunes.

The $9.99 45 minute mix “follows the arc of a typical distance run,” according to Apple, “carrying you through an easy warm-up, increasing in pitch as you start to own the road, peaking with a high-energy pay-off and then coming back down to earth for a well-deserved cooldown.”

The Crystal Method’s Scott Kirkland explained that he and partner Ken Jordan sought to create a continuous mix that went “right to the heart of getting people motivated” for a run.
