QuickTime adds iTunes Store features, security fixes
Apple on Tuesday released QuickTime 7.1.3, an update to their core multimedia software. It’s available for download from the Apple QuickTime Web site.
Customarily QuickTime updates are available through the Software Update system preference or through Apple’s Software Downloads Web page, though neither of those resources had been updated as Macworld posted this article.
The new update to QuickTime has been released to help facilitate new features in the recently-released iTunes 7, including the ability to play back movies that have been purchased from the iTunes Store, and also also makes a number of security improvements — including fixes for exploits that could cause arbitrary code execution in a maliciously-crafted H.264 movie; and fixes for problems with FLC movies, FlashPix and SGI images.
QuickTime 7.1.3 requires a G3/400MHz or faster processor, 128MB RAM or greater, and Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later.
