iPoker comes to Mac OS X

Todd Ouzts, a.k.a. Scenario Software, has released iPoker 2.0, a new and improved version of his poker game for the Mac. The new version gains myriad enhancements, including Mac OS X support -- in fact, Mac OS X is now a requirement. It's a free upgrade for current registered users.

With iPoker, you can play over 80 poker games or create your own. Eleven built-in QuickTime "shills" will play against you, and feature adjustable AI. The game also features synthesized dealer's speech, animation and sound effects, a tutorial mode, casual, table stakes and freeze-out tournament modes and many other features.

According to the developer, enhancements made since the last significant release of iPoker include:

  • Built ('Carbonized') especially for Mac OS X
  • Bigger, better and more varied player videos
  • Smoother animation with speed slider control
  • New activation model (no more expiration!)
  • New web site, manual, installer, logo and icon
  • Streamlined menus, dialogs and Aqua controls
  • New rule previews in the Open Game dialog
  • New 'Lowball, Deuce to Seven' game file
  • New HTML-based textual report windows
  • Lots of bug fixes, graphic tweaks, and more ...
  • iPoker 2.0 can be downloaded from the Scenario Software Web site, and it costs US$25 to register. You can evaluate it by playing an unlimited number of 7-Card Stud games, and registering unlocks over 80 other variations of poker.
