iMage USB webcam debuts

Ecamm network has introduced the iMage USB webcam, a $59.95 webcam that delivers 640 x 480 video to the Mac. It works without driver software, and is compatible with iChat AV, Yahoo! Messenger, Skype and other applications.

The iMage features a built-in magnetic mount and uses a low-profile design that allows it to be mounted on top of PowerBook and iBook displays. A threaded screw hole makes it possible to mount on a tripod, as well. The device connects to Macs or Windows PCs using USB 2.0.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4.3 or later, G3/600MHz or faster and USB 2.0.
