Checkout retailer software adds cash drawer support

Madebysofa has released Checkout 1.1, a new version of their Point Of Sale (POS) software for the Macintosh. The new version supports receipt printers, cash drawers and USB barcode scanners. A free update for 1.x users, Checkout costs $399.

Checkout enables retailers to manage a Point of Sale system on their Macintosh. Checkout includes backup and bookkeeping capabilities; interoperability with other applications, such as Microsoft Excel; Address Book sync; reporting functions and fast input capabilities.

Checkout works in English, Brazilian, German, Portuguese and Dutch. French, Spanish and Italian localizations are on the way.

A fully functional time-limited demo is available for download. Checkout is a Universal binary that requires Mac OS X v10.4.6 or later.
