Call for writers on video and design topics

We’re looking for new writers to help us out here at Creative Notes, Macworld.com’s blog for creative professionals. The blog is part of our Creative Space topic area, which covers design and illustration, high-end digital photography and video production, typography, color management and more.

Blog topics can be as simple as riffing off of recent announcements, talking about products that you like or feel deserve wider coverage, tips and tricks, short product reviews, and so forth. Entries don’t need to be long, just a few hundred words, and we’ll do our best not to over-process them: we want your voice to come through.

The fine print

  • You must be willing to give us blog entries on a regular basis, preferably three or four per month.
  • You can’t have financial ties—current or within the past two years—to companies that sell products or services to creative professionals. (Nothing personal: we’re sure you can be honest and fair, but our readers expect us to be as unbiased and unencumbered as is possible.)
  • If you’ve got a blog of your own, that’s great. We’ll make sure we link to it, but we want original content, not stuff you’ve published there.
  • If you are a creative type with a little writing talent, and are willing to offer some insight into your world (for a modest fee), send a note to Philip Michaels , Macworld.com’s executive editor. While we would love to hear from anyone who feels they’re qualified to cover some of these topics, our most urgent need is for folks who are involved in pro video: production, capture, broadcast and more.

[Update, March 22: We have received enough submissions for now—thanks to all of those who wrote in.]
