iPDA bridges iPod connection to Google Maps

ZappTek has released iPDA version 3.3, a new version of the software that enables you to send data to your iPod to round out its capabilities as a Personal Data Assistant (PDA). A free update for registered users, iPDA costs $19.99. A demo is available for download.

iPDA enables you to transfer Word, PDF, Apple Pages, RTF and text documents to your iPod, and downloads RSS feeds, weather forecasts and news headlines as well. iPDA works with Microsoft Entourage, Apple Stickies, Mail, Address Book and iCal.

New to the 3.3 release is the ability to download driving directions from Google Maps to the iPod. iPDA also backs up the contents of selected folders and subfolders from the Mac to the iPod. Mail message listings now include the subject name in the note title and list file names of attachments.

iPDA will now number pages with three digits, enabling you to support up to 1000 pages of notes. News navigation has been improved, as has iCal calendar navigation. Mail message processing has been improved, and an iCal bug in Mac OS X v10.3.9 has been fixed.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 or later, an iPod, Entourage for Entourage data sync, and an Internet connection (for Web-based services).
