USB Sentry protects FileMaker Pro databases

FMWebschool has released USB Sentry, a plug-in for FileMaker Pro 7 and 8 that enables you to lock down your FileMaker Pro database using a USB stick. It normally costs $299.99, but is available now for $199.99.

USB Sentry is aimed at FileMaker Pro developers looking for a degree of security, to make sure their custom databases don’t end up copied on someone else’s computer besides their client’s.

USB Sentry provides users with the database on the stick; the software is bound to that USB stick. When your client receives the data database, they will only be able to access it by having the stick in place.

Beyond software copy protection, USB Sentry can also be used to set up login routines and to keep data from prying eyes.

USB Sentry works with FileMaker Pro 7 or later on both Mac OS X and Windows.
