Iogear ships wireless Bluetooth Laser Mouse

Iogear on Monday announced the release of its Bluetooth Laser Mouse. Compatible with Macs and PCs equipped Bluetooth interfaces, the wireless mouse costs $79.95.

The Bluetooth Laser Mouse uses Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) as the light source. This provides up to 30 times more tracking power than a mouse that uses an optical sensor, according to Iogear. It tracks at 1600 dots per inch. The mouse is also USB-ready, and while it’s connected via USB it will recharge its own batteries.

What’s more, the surface of the mouse is coated with a Titanium Oxide and Silver nano-particle compound that Iogear claims deactivates enzymes and proteins of bacteria.

The mouse requires Mac OS X v10.3.5 or later.
