NI announces Kontakt 3, new Komplete bundles

Virtual Instrument maker Native Instruments has announced updates to Kontakt 3, its software sampler and two new Komplete bundle packages.

&p Kontakt 3 includes over 1,000 instruments in “every imaginable musical role,” according to NI. The library in Kontakt 3 consists of six themes titled “Band,” ;#8220;Orchestral,” “Synth,” “Urban Beats,” “Vintage” and “World,” all based on over 33 GB of source material.

Every instrument in Kontakt 3 includes a Performance View panel that allows for easy control over all the sound parameters. The new version also includes a feature called Zone Envelopes. These free form envelopes are added directly to the waveform, adding a new aspect to the modulation features.

A new Instrument Navigator, Monitor Tab, a Modulation Quick-Jump feature, and an enhanced mapping editor have been added to the application.

Kontakt 3 will be available in October for $449. An upgrade for owners of Kontakt 2 will be offered at $149.

Komplete bundles

NI has also updated its Komplete bundles. The bundles offer many of the company’s software instruments and effects in one package.

Komplete 5 adds the Massive synthesizer as well as the latest versions of Kontakt 3 and Guitar Rig 3. Other products included in Komplete 5 are Absynth 4, Akoustik Piano, Battery 3, B4 II, Elektrik Piano, FM8, PRO-53 and Reaktor 5.

Komplete 5 will cost $1149.

Two new bundles, Komplete Synths and Komplete Classics have also been released and will cost $449 each.

All three Komplete bundles will be available in October.
