BusySync shares iCal calendars

BusyMac on Monday introduced BusySync 1.0, a multi-user calendaring sharing utility for iCal. It costs $19.95 per user.

BusySync is designed to let users on a local area network share and edit calendars. It works without requiring a dedicated server system (unlike Leopard iCal’s multi-user capabilities, say the developers). Shared calendars can be edited by others on the same network. Everything gets synchronized between each user.

Features include support for Apple’s zero-configuration “Bonjour” networking; multi-user editing; security restrictions including read/write, read-only or no access; and offline access. It’s localized for English, German, French and Japanese.

BusySync requires Mac OS X v10.4 or later, including Leopard, and is a Universal binary that runs natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs.
